When we think of France we’d certainly picture premium wines, cheese and the melodic sound of the French language. Another French charm would be the highly unique identity of their lifestyle that differ them from other European. We Asian people may not be used to the French way of greeting. Apart from handshaking, kissing with both cheeks is another gesture. Close friends usually kiss 3 times or more depending on the tradition of each region.

When they don’t meet in persons, the French have an ending expression for letter writing e-mail writing or a phone conversation, « je t’embrasse », which means I kiss you. The expression can be used with friends or a lovers just like a real kiss on the cheek. It can be expressed to both male and female considering the closeness.

And because there are clear lines of levels in the French language. You should be more careful with your choice of words when spoken to someone newly met to show them respect and politeness.

French isn't actually as hard as you may think. And in order to learn any foreign language with joy and well understanding, other than studying the grammar, you should pay attention to the culture, the tradition and the lifestyle of where the language comes from.

See you all very soon, à bientôt.
