Pluey has passed…
I ride my motorbike straight to the ceramic class at The Faculty of Fine Art.
Deceptive words echoing in my head.
Everything goes on in the same routine. The electric kiln works with the same noise.

Familiar-looking pieces of work are airing, waiting to dry. The room is filled with a lively and warm atmosphere even when no soul’s around.
I walk around the room a few times, expecting Pluey to come out and say hi.
Everything's still the same.
I am with silence. I walk past people, but fear to ask them what I’m here to ask.
One of the students walks up to me and asks, “Are you here to see anyone?”

I pause, before letting her know I’m only visiting the faculty.
I start to panic. It has been a while and there is no sign Pluey will come in.
I walk around seeing his car at the same parking space.
Everything seems usual.
I go back to work, feeling a little relieved, hoping what I've heard to be a rumor.

I call the number I've had from Chompoo.

The other side of the wire says Pluey’s body is being moved to Suan Dok Temple.

Pluey…
, the hard working man of ceramic art who taught with kindness.
I’m not sure how widely accepted his works have been in the art business.
But he was full of friendliness, with a brotherly love for everyone he met.
He was as much a friend and a brother to me as a teacher.
Whenever we met, he’d talk me into creating pottery art and offer to burn the pieces for me.
Not very often that we would meet an art worker who widely opened his world for all who would like to enter and never closed to others’ opinions.
Pluey was open minded and attentive to everyone.
These are the greatness that will always remain in our memory.

Pluey passed peacefully after working hard continuously for many days.
From what I’m told, he left the faculty at four in the morning...
He was too tired to drive home so he stayed over at a friend’s nearby.
And then he went to sleep…sleeping for an eternity.
He was rested from a long long tiredness.
……………………………………………………………………………….
Love and art still remain.
